On November 25, the year of Mau Than (December 22, 1788), in the capital Phu Xuan, Nguyen Hue chose the area of Mount Ban (ie Ban Son) to build an altar to worship heaven and earth and hold the ceremony to enthrone the Emperor, taking the throne. His reign name was Quang Trung and he ordered his troops to move quickly to the North to defeat the Manchu invaders. This operation marked an important historical milestone in the process of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people.
Before that, almost no one knew about this Ban Mountain relic. At the end of 1977, Associate Professor Dr. Do Bang was the first person to research and verify the Ban mountain relic in Con Mo land, Hanh hamlet, Tu Tay village, Thuy An commune, now An Tay ward, Hue city. In the past, I did not know the name of the mountain. It is very possible that Nguyen Hue was the one who named the mountain Ban, meaning: both inside and outside are perfect. On November 18, 1988, Ban Mountain was recognized as a National Historical Site.
In 2001, at the Phu Xuan – Thuan Hoa scientific conference of the Tay Son period organized by the People’s Committee of Hue City and the Thua Thien Hue Historical Science Association, there was the idea of building a museum, cultural park and Quang Ninh monument.
